The failure and inspection of Champion Sparking Plugs from a 36-EX engine.

To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to Wst. 6000 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/WB.{Mr Brazier/Mr Bell}2/JH.30.12.36. Champion Sparking Plugs. We have removed 12 Champion Long Reach N.A.9. sparking plugs from the engine of 36-EX. These plugs were fitted to the exhaust side of the engine, they have completed 1946 miles. At 1762 miles they were taken out for misfiring, one had broken down electrically, the rest were cleaned, set tested and replaced. After 200 miles they again failed, the pressure test showing them all firing intermittently. They have been returned to Wst. for inspection. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/W.Brazier. R.S.
