COPY FROM:- Messrs Dunlop Rubber Co, Ltd., Aston Cross, BIRMINGHAM. 17th April.1919. TO:- Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, D E R B Y. Dear Sirs, YOUR REFERENCE Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}/GEA240/DK10419 - MAGNUM TYPE TYRES. We have yours of the 10th, advising return of 1.895 x 150 m/m magnum type cover, and note mileage this did before failing. We will have this carefully examined and report as soon as it comes to hand. We note your remarks as to the Magnum tyres you have tested fitting easily when new into dished pan used in connection with the tyre carrier, but that after running some 2000 miles the tyres will not go in on account of stretch that has taken place in the casing. There is always a certain amount of stretch with every cover - approximately 5%. However, we should like to point out that the only Magnum type tyres we have supplied to you up to the present time have been issued for experimental purposes and must be regarded as such. Yours faithfully, FOR THE DUNLOP RUBBER CO.LTD. (Signed) E.H.BLAKE. Sales Manager. | ||
