At the request of the Experimental Department we have produced experimental schemes for testing threaded spring bolts on the rear springs of Ph.III. The treatment of the front end of the rear spring is shown on LeC.5672 herewith. The spring bracket is unaltered as also is the spring. A threaded bush is inserted in the spring eye. The scheme for the rear spring shackle is shown on LeC.5668 herewith also. As these schemes at the moment are purely experimental, and as the parts are being made without details we suggest that no detailing need be done at this stage. Prints LeC.5672 and LeC.5668 have been handed to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} to enable the Experimental Department to produce parts for one car for test purposes.
