RE SPECTRECodename for Phantom III WHEELS.

You will note from another memo. that we have arranged to paint the wheels of 33-EX and 35-EX to match the coachwork.

The wheels for the Enclosed Limousine 34-EX will be all right in black.

We have not overlooked the question of discs, but so far nothing has been done in the matter of obtaining them. The SpectreCodename for Phantom III wheels are special wheels and at the moment there is a possibility that the design of the wheel is not quite final. We take it that you will want discs on some of the cars at Olympia and on some of the demonstration cars eventually. As soon as the question of the wheel design is settled we suggest that a sample set of discs should be put in hand. This cannot be done very well from drawings due to the close proximity of the brake drums and the wheel, and we suggest that it will be necessary to allow the Disc Manufacturer to examine the chassis. We could supply him with the necessary drawings and a sample wheel and could arrange also to let him come up here and see a chassis if you think the necessary secrecy could be maintained.

We feel that if this question is left over until dummy chassis are sent to the Coachbuilders there may be insufficient time to obtain the discs.

We would be glad to have your views on this matter.
