Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.7/MA.25.4.34. BENTLEY DYNAMO. We would like to try a smaller dynamo on the Bentley chassis in order to reduce weight and inertia loading and make the engine look better proportioned. A new dynamo of the 20/25 size to R.R.sch. 481 has been developed to a very satisfactory stage and the performance is practically as good as the larger machine. The large machine is being improved on similar lines but as the existing output has proved sufficient on the Bentley, the smaller machine should be ample for its requirements. The saving in weight will be 7 lbs 6 ozs. We should like to have one of these new dynamos on the new Bentley chassis 5.B.IV for a 10,000 mile test and to do this it will be necessary to instruct a dynamo armature and bearing bracket arranged for the tachometer drive also to arrange packing pieces for the smaller diameter car-case.
