GC/DT/L. October 26th. 28. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., "CamachaHenry Royce's office in West Wittering" West WitteringHenry Royce's home town, Chichester. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. B. S. Day. Further to our letter of the 24th instant we have fortunately been able to have a further personal discussion with Mons. De Lavaud. We have pointed out the difficulty we are up against in respect of the nose bearing for the pinion and he is of opinion that we could design a differential for you on a 70 m {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} /m diameter roller race, provided the rollers are increased in lengths by 50%. We therefore propose making a design on these lines and will forward you a blue print as soon as this is completed. In submitting this design we take this opportunity to mention that the differential must be considered to a certain extent in the nature of an experiment, but Mons. De Lavaud's opinion is that a design on these lines should prove satisfactory. We will again communicate with you as previously promised. Yours faithfully, For THE DE LAVAUD HOLDINGS CORPORATION LIMITED. | ||
