Messrs S. F.{Mr Friese} Edge Ltd.,
14, New Burlington Street,
London. W.

Dear Sirs,

We understand that your Mr Arthur Macdonald has patented an arrangement for separate body and chassis dashes, which serves the double purpose of preventing squeaks and wear, and of affording a means of ventilating the front seats. This scheme which we refer to was shown on your 65 h.p. finished car at the last Olympia Show.

We have been interested for some time in a similar scheme, and are anxious that we should not infringe your patents. Will you therefore kindly provide us with the number of Mr Macdonald's patent, and also of any other patents which you may hold for a similar device.

We trust that you will be able to provide us with this information.

Yours faithfully,

For ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
