86093. 18.12.33. Visit of Mr. Thompson of the British Carbons Co., (1) A Morganite EGO brush of the 344 type was handed to him. It was left to him to submit a brush as near as they could produce to the EGO grade; the brush would be of the 344 shape. (2) He was informed that their grade G.7 was too soft, and their grade B too much like a carbon brush, and that consequently these were now being considered. (3) Their grade G.20 appeared worth a trial. (4) The pigtail insulation was criticised on the ground that it did not permit ventilation of the pigtail. A new form was suggested. (5) The bad finish of the brush, and that of the bevel in particular, was pointed out to him, and a promise of a better finish obtained. | ||
