X.3199 To Na.{Mr Nadin} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/Mr.Ellis. c. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} c. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} R4/P13.11.13. X.562 - X.427 X.800. X.3199. I want the necessary special parts providing so as to enable one of our engines on the test plate to be fitted with a Bosch magneto, which is specially arranged with two distributors for entirely separate magneto and battery ignition. I do not think the Bosch distributor good enough for the electro-motive force we usually put on our battery ignition, and we shall require a coil 6 volts, giving only a short spark, but which will give a satisfactory ignition with the sparking plugs adjusted to about fifteen thousandths between the pound.
