Frame stiffness.
We have issued a report on the Cadillac frame stiffness compared with the Phantom and SpectreCodename for Phantom III.

Water Circulation.
We have issued a report on water circulation.

Clutch.
The R.R. single plate clutch is continuing to give satisfaction. We are carrying out destruction tests. Oil has been getting on SpectreCodename for Phantom III 1 clutch and various crankcase breathers are being tried to overcome the trouble.

Car for France.
There has been some discussion as to whether SpectreCodename for Phantom III 2 or SpectreCodename for Phantom III 3 should go to France. It is now thought that SpectreCodename for Phantom III 3 could be most conveniently sent in spite of the fact that it is not a maximum bodied car, the reason being that the front suspension is up-to-date.

In order to get the car away soon we propose to make the minimum modifications to the existing specification. The alterations as far instructed are as follows :-

(1) 5" deflection front springs.
(2) 7" deflection rear springs.
(3) The engine suspension as on No.1 but with harder rubbers.
(4) Intake and exhaust silencers as on No.1 car.
(5) Phantom type brake adjustment.
(6) Pedals with increased travel.
(7) Front roll rod as on SpectreCodename for Phantom III 2 but with lubrication.
(8) Shock damper bellows brought up to date.
(9) Yoke piece and buffers to R.Sch.4478.
(10) No.5 SpectreCodename for Phantom III unit with short duration camshaft.
(11) The best type of tappet of those now on test.
