TO HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} FROM EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} SECRET X5500. EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/6.2.31. X.5500 X.5770 COPY TO BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} CAST DASHBOARD. JAPAN III. We are making a design for the cast dashboard for Japn II. and are endeavouring to make it to machine mould. It will of course be of the universal type as recently done for P.II. We would like to know whether it would facilitate and cheapen production to cast on the bonnet angle, as we are proposing this. If we do we are not sure of the best way to attach the ferodo. To make face the ferodo as now would entail the milling of slots which would be expensive, we believe. We give below a suggestion for holding the ferodo on with staples similar to those used for attaching the fabric to the servo clutch plate. Will it be necessary to machine the ledge to receive the ferodo or will the casting be sufficiently accurate. We would welcome your views by return as we are at work on the design of the casting at the moment. SECTION A A.{Mr Adams} | ||
