206. EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}12/JH. 20th August, 1938. Dunlop Rubber Co.Ltd., Fort Dunlop, Erdington, BIRMINGHAM. For the attention of H.E. Price Esq. Dear Sirs, Reference to your request for stopping distance figures of our Bentley AU.1 taken at your works on your wet track with a piece of apparatus made by ourselves, we did not attach much importance to these as they were taken hurriedly in about a quarter hour after a morning spent using your apparatus. We appear to have results corresponding with your Tests Nos.2 and 3. (Figs 7 & 8) which are 75 and 80 feet respectively. The other two records Nos. 1 and 4 were unsatisfactory. Trusting this is the information you require. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
