HFO Rml2/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 13th July, 1937. Mr. Gamble, The Borg & Beck Co.,Ltd., CHICAGO. U.S.A. Dear Mr. Gamble, I should have written to you a long time ago to thank you for the hospitality you extended to me in Chicago. However, I have not forgotten the very pleasant evening I spent with you, and am still hoping that before very long I shall get an opportunity of reciprocating when you come over with some of your family. We have now got the servo running, and it is working remarkably well. We do not know what the Patent situation is, but shall be glad of any information you can give us as we are thinking of putting it into production. I was not sure whether it belonged to Borg & Beck, or to some outside individual. If it belongs to someone outside, is it, in your opinion, valid ? The clutch plates you sent over have proved to be very good on take-up, and we have ordered some more via your Affiliated Co. in England. Should be very glad if you would keep me in touch with any startling development which may come along. Yours sincerely, P.S. The servo referred to is, of course, the hairpin spring which reduces the clutch pedal pressure. | ||
