B.III.
(Cont'd)
A B.III engine has completed 300 hours development running under severe conditions without being stripped. Unless unforeseen troubles develop on the car which goes to France next month, a prototype B.III chassis should be ready for a final 15,000 test by the end of the year.

B.50. General development.

B.2. The overdrive box on 6.B.IV has now covered 21,000 miles without trouble.

P.III. Development work on this car is being kept down to the minimum. No bench tests on the engine are being run, only one car - 35-MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}

B.50 Cast Iron Engine.
Castings are now in for this unit.

(C) Foreign Cars.

The Jaguar is almost re-built and can be disposed of shortly.

The Oldsmobile is being handed over for sale.

The Packard is really so old now that we should like to change it for a new model of the same type. We do not want to be without a Packard until we are in production with B.III suspension.

(D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}) General Research Programme.

(1) We have carried out investigations into the reduction in wind resistance achieved by modern American cars and are issuing a report.

(2) We are concentrating on reducing cylinder bore wear.

(3) We are developing better clutch linkage and semi-centrifugal operation for all models. The latter device gives a smoother take up and lighter pedal pressure.
