SECRET. YS 310. To R.{Sir Henry Royce} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. to Nor. c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} J.J. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/MJ.9.3.32. The trouble with the noisy engine gears on this engine has now been entirely overcome. The amount of engine gear noise now is less than we get on the present engines either F.2 or 25 HP. The trouble was due to inaccuracies in the gear. Arrangements are being made so that we can produce these gears in the same way as Helical gears for the synchro-mesh box. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
