To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} Ds. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} re Concealed Hinges. Replying to your memo Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}8/E.19.10.36, we gave the job of producing a concealed pattern hinge for our cars to an outside specialist on hinges, but he has failed to supply us with anything for this purpose. The difficulty is the large angle of operation which we call for on the top hinge, and which arises from the relatively great depth of the bonnet sides. We are however investigating the matter again, but we quite appreciate the necessity for making a move in this direction. I will let you know in due course what we think is possible.
