To. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} [Hives?] CHATEAUROUX. I/9.2.38. 600a also 200a 26.G.VI. & 6.B.IV. We are sending under seperate cover, one broken Valve Spring EB.3256 made in Swedish wire by R.R. which failed on 26.G.VI. after 2000 miles running. In the same parcel are the two ends of the brake rod which failed on 6.B.IV. We have cut it to facilitate postage. The Wraith is at present held up for various jobs. As soon as it is running again, we will find the valve bounce speed and take another oil sample. These jobs have been postponed on account of the trip with Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} The first oil sample was dirty. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} is concerned with the ease with which this car can be overdriven in top gear and wants us to try a higher axle ratio. Have you any gears that would suit ? If so please send them out to France-Britannic. I will answer in full to-morrow to the various memos received while I was away. --------- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW{Ivan M.
