WRAITH III CHASSIS 26.G.VI.

Further to the 21,000 miles inspection report on the above chassis, will you kindly note the following :-

Exhaust System.

Assembled to LOP.EW.1578 incorporating rear silencer to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}466 - standard gauge.

EW.1045 front box produced in 17.SWG. material.

EW.696 centre box.

Downtake pipe, front expansion box and intermediate pipe nickel plated inside and outside.

The general condition of the exhaust system is extremely poor, the front downtake pipe being fractured; a section of the inner pipe in the rear silencer has broken away and the central section of the perforated pipe which passes through the intermediate box is completely broken up (see photograph attached).

It should also be noted that when removing the intermediate silencer difficulty was experienced with the adjustable clamped joints.
