Please find attached copy of my assistant's report WD.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}53 on breakdown tests of battery ignition mushroom type distributor rotor. These were conducted as a result of the through failure of a rotor of the previous (non- mushroom) type which was brought to our notice by EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} We have offered BY/RD. a our opinion that the thickness of moulded material in the centre of the rotor which has to resist the high potential difference might with advantage be increased, and he has stated that he will look into the matter with a view of providing such increase as is reasonable. We think from the results of our tests that any increase that can be obtained is desirable. EFC. WD.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}53 attached. | ||
