To DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to EH. " " RY. " " HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " " EFC. ORIGINAL. D 6 AUG 1920 RECEIVED 50 R1/G5/8/20. X.3888 RE PETROL LEVEL INDICATOR AND RESERVE SUPPLY DEVICE. Referring to the above, a scheme Lec.1267 has been made at Wittering showing a suggestion for a petrol level gauge made in the form of a unit carrying a float on an arm with multiplying bevel gear for giving a reading three-quarters of a revolution on a circular dial. This drawing also shews a simple arrangement for the reserve supply valve in which a vertical needle is depressed by a screw plunger having a bellows tube gland. Lec.1267 was taken to London personally by Mr.Royce on the 4th instant, and it was his intention to hand it to a Derby official for transmission to you. This scheme is described in Mr. Royce's memo R1/G31/7/20 which has been posted to you to-day. We have received your schemes at Wittering in connection with this same job, and shall send them on to Mr.Royce. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
