For the attention of Mr.Jelly.

Dear Sirs,

Thank you for your letter of the 29th. of last month, we note your remarks with regard to piercing floatex mounting flanges.

We are now trying to investigate the troubles we have had with your experimental bushes FB.3143/4. You will be pleased to hear that the Inlox bush is very little better, but the results from our rig test are not good enough. The rubber gradually works out of the outer sleeve and appears to be cut off by a sharp edge on the rolled over lip. We see that you have put a chamfer on the inside of the tube before rolling the lip, but it still has a sharp edge and it looks as if a radius would be more satisfactory.

Mr.Robotham would welcome the chance to discuss these bushes with you, so could you let me know if it would be convenient for you and Mr. Harris if possible to pay us a visit early next week.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
