We have already sent you schemes for rubber ended connecting links for the roll-rod and shock absorbers of Phantom III and Wraith II. We are very anxious to have some tests of these rubber ended links on the Phantom III as their use on Wraith II is part of the design. We are sending herewith five American rubber ended connecting links which were brought back by E/PSN. We should be glad if you would open up the end of one of these and send the pieces to us. As previously stated we have no idea what durometer hardness to specify for the rubber in our joints, and we would be glad if you could tell us the durometer hardness of these American specimens. Although we have the American details they call merely for high grade rubber. On the very latest specimens we have noticed that the rubber has a vertical hole through its centre in order to give it some compressibility. We suggest that this feature should be tested. We also understand that Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}, in conjunction with the Order Office, is obtaining somesynthetic rubbers for test purposes.
