9-PK - 'W' SERIES, WITH SUBFRAME. 49770 X8310

9-PK car was rushed together as a mock-up chassis to be used by coachbuilders as a carrier for subframe bodies. It was never intended to be used as a complete car.

The gearbox in that car is the original type.

The change speed levers and brake levers were made by welded bosses.

At the time we got the car ready we were told it did not matter if the car could not be run at all.

We expect to have an improved gearbox of this type running in a week or 10 days. This is on the new HAC. chassis we are preparing for R.{Sir Henry Royce}

Wewill make sure on that car that the change speed gear mechanism works correctly.
