Merlin Piston? .1175 RmlO/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 23rd May, 1938. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Spurrier Esq., Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner}, Leyland Motors Limited, Leyland, LANCS: Dear Spurrier, You will remember that not very long ago you were good enough to supply me with figures showing your Foundry cost for producing aluminium castings in man hours per lb of material. We are having some difficulty in getting satisfactory aluminium castings made outside at the right price, and our own capacity is at present severely taxed due to the Air Force Expansion Programme, and I was wondering whether there was any possibility of your undertaking some aluminium Foundry work for us. If you have any spare capacity I could run over with one or two pieces and discuss them with your people. Yours sincerely, | ||
