HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X457 To BY from BJ. Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Front Wheel Wobbles. You were mentioning on Tuesday evening that Works officials had repeatedly reported front wheel wobbles but no notice had been taken of this and it was not until the Sales officials had experienced front wheel wobbles that serious notice was taken. This is an important point for us to consider more fully, with a view to making sure that, when Works Officials find points in our new cars which are dangerous or serious, some real notice is taken of their reports. Please look into the matter and let me have copies of the reports and what action was taken to inform WW to draw his personal attention to front wheel wobbles so that we can make sure that such serious alterations are dealt with by WW in future. For instance, when PN{Mr Northey} has personal experience of such a fault, he comes to see the Administration and makes the matter very clear that serious notice must be taken of the fault, or he writes such a special memorandum to the Administration as necessitates definite action being taken. It is possible the Works have not used sufficiently strong measures to draw the attention of WW to such faults as will impress on WW the absolute necessity of their being corrected immediately. Please consult with Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and let me know what you consider should be done in the future, as I quite appreciate the earlier we make these discoveries and impress on WW the necessity of overcoming the faults, the better for us all.
