New engine tie design for a Bentley with a centrally mounted radiator.

BENTLEY - Centrally Mounted Radiator, Wings, etc.

Referring to the head for an engine tie on the above assembly, the best way to do this seems to be to provide a tie on one side only, as on standard 20/25. The same cap on the crankcase bearer is used and the tie itself is similar to the 20/25, except that of the two schemes shown, we prefer scheme 2 as being lighter and simpler. In this scheme the tie is fork ended instead of plain with inserted bosses as on standard.

The bolts used at the forward end are those now holding up the engine mounting bracket and only require to be longer, so that there seems to be no difficulty in fitting this stay in France.
