Contd. (3) At 2800 R.P.M. however, they did not close until position 2, at 3400 R.P.M. at positions 3 and at 4000 R.P.M. and all higher speeds up to 6000 R.P.M. at position 4. At 4000 to 6000 R.P.M. the "fling" was such that the gap opened to .060" i.e. as far as the stop would allow it, and then gradually closed again. (The dead slow gap was about .030").
