A.{Mr Adams} T. Speedometer.

Dear Sirs,

We are returning to you under separate cover an A.T. speedometer recently received from Messrs. Smiths. This instrument reads 5% fast at the lower end of the scale and 4% slow at the higher end making a total scale error of 9% and we attach herewith our calibration figures for your reference. Also the revs per mile are 784 whereas we specified 789.

We do not consider this accuracy is sufficiently good enough for our requirements, in any case we do not wish the speedometer to read low at the higher speeds.

We should be glad if you will kindly look into the matter and let us have your remarks. At the same time will you kindly have this instrument readjusted more accurately and returned to us as soon as possible.

Yours Faithfully,

FOR ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED.
