7.B.V. - BENTLEY.

B.III NO.2 UNIT.

7 - 1 RAISED CROWN PISTONS.

Detonation has become worse on this engine, and with the best governor curve we could obtain, it is necessary to retard the ignition more than is desirable or acceptable to stop detonation on Ethyl.

We are handing the pistons and cylinder head exactly as removed without disturbing the carbon, to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} Will you please carry out tests on detonation in continuation of your work with clean pistons and cylinder head.
