contd :- -3- At the moment we can say that we cannot operate with a compression ratio of 5.6/1 due to preignition troubles. We are combining experiments and are arranging thermo couples attached to the copper washers under the plugs. Aero plugs will be used to eliminate pre-ignition and the temperature of this particular part of the cyl. head can be recorded. A similar test will be made on the standard cast iron 20 HP. head so that we may observe if there is any appreciable temperature difference between the two engines.
