Torque Reversed Test Rig.

Heavy duty joggling endurance rig running at approximately 1000 r.p.m. for testing model cranks, levers, steering worms, etc. This rig is now in W. Bell's shop and is driven by the line shafting.

Balancing Machine.

Now in W. Bell's shop.

Geerbox Tests.

Rig to test synchromesh mechanism.

This would consist of a motor driving the third motion shaft through a gearbox. The first motion shaft would be coupled to a small flywheel. If required, an automatic changing device could be fixed up for endurance tests on the synchro mechanism.

Gear endurance tests would be done on the chassis dynamometer.

Providing the frequency of tests on engine components is not too great, a number of rigs requested in the 1936 note on rigs could be combined. These rigs are:-

(12) Valves & Springs.

Endurance tests on valves, springs and seats including valve bounce tests.

(13) Coolant Pumps.

Performance and Endurance Tests.

(14) Oil Pumps.

Performance and Endurance Tests.

(15) Fuel Pumps.

Performance and Endurance Tests.

The combined rig would be driven by the 40 H.P. variable speed D.C. motor used by Edwards in endurance tests on Water Pumps.
