DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/CB20-12-20. RE "GOSHAWK" BRAKE GEAR. We are making the new detail schemes of the brake gear in accordance with E5/G18-12-20, which we have received today, but in order to get the Goshawk model going, we have fitted to it, for the present, a temporary brake operating scheme, because the works are trying to get the Goshawk on the road before Christmas, and look like doing it. We shall change this braking scheme for the one which you finally approve, as soon as it is ready. With reference to the trough carrying the change-speed lever and gear, it appears to be very stiff as now fitted, so that it seems quite possible that it can be reduced in depth so as to clear the speedometer without the bulging.
