-2- of shock absorbers they have no fixed ideas as each manufacturer demands something different. They are making them with all kinds of setting. They have produced as many as 30,000 shock absorbers a day but the day I was there they made 12,000. The production is wonderful and remarkably accurate and inspection of individual parts very good. The shock absorbers are assembled on a line with no adjustments, but as a final check every single shock absorber is put on a machine which records a diagram of the pressures on the ball end at a certain stroke and speed. They sell a set of four shock absorbers and connections for a light car for 7 dollars (28/- approx.) I have sent a pair of Delco shock absorbers to England, I am also trying to get hold of a net with the external adjustment. I have tried a P.I. fitted with these shock absorbers and it gave a wonderfully good ride without any noise. They use a permanent leak in most of their valves. I have found on 25-EX I have had to drill the valves to get any sort of ride comparable with the Springfield made cars. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
