-8- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KW.28.8.36. on 5-B-IV necessitates a soft front suspension, as it accentuates hard riding with the standard springs. Tyres. We are experimenting with a 6" tyre to improve the road holding of the car, increase the life of the tyre, and get a more silent tread. We have two sets of tyres running in France. Body with Improved Entrance. We have completed the wider dashboard. The body will be ready on the 18th September, and we are sending a chassis down for it to be fitted at Park Wards. High Power Overhead Camshaft 6-Cylinder Unit. We expect this to be completed in 3 to 4 weeks' time. To give us a reasonable chance to develop it we require the new test bed which was agreed upon at a recent Conference. Single Cylinder Work. In view of the fact that we shall shortly have a complete overhead camshaft engine to investigate, we are confining the single cylinder work to the side valve exhaust, overhead inlet unit. After analysis we consider that it is well worth going further with this design. Citroen Suspension. We are rigging up the Citroen suspension on a Bentley chassis. We think it is well worth doing this to provide data for torsion rod design. It is an awkward job and will take 3 or 4 weeks. | ||
