Reply to be addressed to John Marston Limited for the attention of CSS/ETC FROM JOHN MARSTON LIMITED, WOLVERHAMPTON. 14th, March 1939. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., Derby. For the attention of Mr. F.J.Hardy. Dear Sirs, We are sending herewith a print of a proposed modification to the R.R.Car Heater to DCD.1204. This drawing shows a proposal to carry the motor on the heater: this of course, will not interest you, but it also shows a modification to the outer case, back plate and volume plate of the heater, to improve the appearance with Messrs. Smith's ideas on the subject, i.e. instead of the outer case being flanged for fixing to the dash, the volume plate and back plate turn over as shown. This means that in the case of the R.R.Heater used on R.R. cars, three small feet riveted to the outer case will be used for attachment. Would you ring the writer tomorrow morning without fail to say whether you are agreeable to this modification, as we are proceeding with these Heaters and wish to incorporate this alteration. If agreeable, we suggest that you alter your drawings accordingly. Yours faithfully, for C.S. Steadman DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER. | ||
