3.B.50.

Whitsun run 451 miles. 34 galls.

Consumption = 13.3

The 11/41 axle ratio secures about the right compromise between performance and engine life. The brakes are excellent except for occasional servo judders.

Criticisms:

(1) Cold starting very bad and mixture was too weak for a long time.
(2) Engine rough around 50 m.p.h. Various oil leaks under bonnet.
(3) Prop. shaft rough above 75 m.p.h.
(4) Exhaust or intake occasionally whistle.
(5) Steering very heavy - requires less castor.
(6) Body has all the usual P.W. inadequacies.
(a) Uncomfortable front seats - hard and no "bucket".
(b) Useless driving mirror.
(c) P.W. sun visors.
(d) Driver's window handle too near steering wheel.
(e) No cigarette lighter.
(f) Gear lever fouls seat in 2nd. gear.
