X3035. Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/MS. From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.11/MA.3. 5. 32. FERODO DISCS FOR SPRING DRIVES. X719. In reference to the 36 sample ferodo discs dated 19.4.32., supplied to E.55092, we find the brass in the material causes roughness in the steel friction plates of the damper. In consequence the load has increased and become rather erratic. Will you please get Ferodo's to supply us with 6 fabrics of a more suitable material. We suggest Ferobestos. It will be useful for Ferodo's to know that we use these discs in engine oil with a load of approx. 40/sq.in. The plain cotton duck as now used is just unable to stand up to our requirements. Will you please request that the delivery of these 6 sample fabrics should be made as soon as possible. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/I.A.Leslie. | ||
