Messrs Ferodo Limited,
Sovereign Works,
Chapel-en-Frith.

Sept. 8th,1932.

For the attention of Mr. Longdem.

Dear Sirs,

We understand that you have been supplying the Bendix Brake people with a lining type B.L.M.20. We are anxious to try this type of lining for our servo, our chief concern is that the normal moulded type of lining varies considerably with co-efficient of friction with temperature. Perhaps you have an improvement on the B.L.M.20 which possibly reduces this trouble.

We should like to try linings to G.54241 and G.100583 for the servo. We should like six off each for experimental use, but only if you consider this lining superior to Ferodo R.A.D.13 that you have recently supplied. If you are doubtful of the superiority of this material, perhaps you will let us have six off G.100583 only.

There is one other point we wish to query - the latest material you have sent us seems to differ considerably in appearance from Ferodo Bonded Asbestos R.A.D.13-047 which you sent us about a year ago, (Ref.No. to Piece No. G.78524. We should like to know what difference in appearance makes to the (JNL/BMP. lining and actually what the alteration is.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
