-2- The obvious way to improve this condition is by increasing the gear-ratio between the steering-wheel and road wheel, but this must not be done, - a different method should be employed. There have been in the past various steering-gear devices in which irreversibility was the first consideration. In the consideration of this problem, there is always the danger of it becoming badly shelved, because the car is meanwhile capable of running well under ordinary conditions, and so many other features and modifications have to receive attention; but I do urge that it should be well worth while making it one draughtsman's job to look into this matter until we have achieved something different.
