Biraben}7/G.7.1.35, we gave a list of parts which were to be supplied to R.R. Specification by Messrs.Wilmot Breeden Ltd., to enable the Type 'A' Stabilising Bumpers to be fitted to our Bentley Chassis. We find, however, that Wilmots do not make the Studs, Nuts, etc., for securing the Bumper to the Chassis to our satisfaction, and it has been decided that we make these parts at R.R., in the future, and that Messrs. Wilmot Breeden Ltd., should obtain supplies of such parts from us. We give below a complete list of the parts which are to be supplied by Wilmot Breeden's to Rolls-Royce Specification, and we have earmarked the parts @, which are to be made by us.- @ FB. 637 Locking Washer(Bumper Stud). 2 off. x@ FB.1659 Nut(Bumper Stud). 2 " FB.1663 Buffer(Stabilising Bumper). 2 " FB.1722 Clamping Bracket(No Plate Support). 2 " FB.1723 Support 2 " FB.1724 Dome Nut(Clamping Bracket). 4 " FB.1725 Lower Rubber Strip. 2 " FB.1726 Upper " ". 2 " FB.1727 Screw(Front No Plate). 4 " FB.1732 Silent Bloc(Stabilising Bumper). 2 " FB.1733 Flanged Bush( " " ). 2 " x@ FB.1734 Stud(Bumper Bar). 2 " y@ FB.1735 " ( " " ). 2 " FB.1736 Packing Piece for Silent Bloc. 2 " K.{Mr Kilner} A3D8 Bolt(Clamping Bracket). 4 " K.{Mr Kilner} 4D4 Nut(No Plate Bracket). 4 " K.{Mr Kilner} 9D6 Washer( " " ). 4 " K.{Mr Kilner} 9007 Washer(Clamping Bracket Bolt). 4 " @ K.{Mr Kilner} 4322 Nut(Bumper Stud). 2 " @ K.{Mr Kilner} 4853 Taper Pin(Bumper Stud). 2 " together with the remaining Standard Wilmot Breeden parts to complete the Stabilising Type 'A' Bumpers. Overall width 62" & weight 34 lbs. The parts marked x are for use on "A"B"C"&"D" Series Chassis, while the part marked y is for use on"E"Series Chassis & onwards. We attach tracings of FB.637, FB.1659,and FB.1734/5, kindly issue Prints to all Dept's concerned except D.O.,& Expl' We attach to Sft{Mr Swift}'s copy one Print of each of these parts, and one Print of each to Roy{Sir Henry Royce}'s copy for Messrs.Wilmot Breeden's information.
