V6134. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.6/MA.30.5.35. 20/25 AND BENTLEY STARTER MOTORS. We had cases where the pinion on the Bijur drive has refused to engage and in one case recently which we examined we found it was due to the shaft being dry and causing the pinion to seize. A cure for this might be effected by the use of an oil soaked felt washer secured to the pinion and arranged to wipe the shaft at every engagement. We attach a sketch illustrating what we have in mind and suggest that a similar scheme be instructed for an experimental try out. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
