X1263 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}11/KW. 14th October, 1936. The S.U. Company Ltd., East Works, Adderley Park, Birmingham 8. For the attention of Mr. Leslie Kent. Dear Sirs, We thank you for the drawing of the high lift pump magnet pots. To enable you to deliver an additional two high lift pumps, besides the one you have already promised, with the least possible delay, we will supply you with two pairs of magnet pots turned out of the solid, in a day or two. We trust that this will enable you to supply us with two pumps within a fortnight, as you are already aware of the urgency of the matter. These pumps are to be supplied without silencers arrangements, as we do not feel it will be necessary with the pumps in the frame position. If, however, this is found to be advisable, the pumps can be modified at a later date. We have had a case reported to us from London in which six valves were found in a pump, two additional valves being placed on the delivery side of the pump. We have been unable to trace any pumps in which we have changed the valves, and can only assume it was delivered by you in this condition. With regard to the bending of the contact blade supports, we have ascertained that this practice has been stopped. | ||
