X202 To EH. from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. WOF. H.Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RHD. Hsy Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/HP.20/1.34. Bentley Rear Axle Pinion. ------------------------ Herewith is N. Sch.3944, showing the application of the "Perfect" oil seal to the Bentley rear axle pinion for trial. The seal is a standard, except that the makers say it should be fitted with chrome leather on account of the high speed. It is pressed into the front cover and the makers say this will be found sufficient. Should it not be so, the front edge of the housing can be thinned down and spun over. Attached is the makers letter which we have acknowledged, and a copy of their standard list. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} no doubt, will attend to the ordering.
