To Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}, x7960 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}21/KW.16.11.34. Chassis GLN-60. Ex Lp.{Mr Lappin} We attach copy of a note from Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} on this car, and a copy of our reply, Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}20/KW.16.11.34 Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}8/KW13.11.34 On going over the specification of the unit in this car we find that the parts which will have to be changed are :- Duralumin connecting rods, replaced by standard. Textolite gears removed and replaced by standard. Bentley camshaft removed and replaced by 20/25. Cylinder studs altered to enable the head to be changed over. We send you prints of Experimental sketches showing the small adaptor necessary to fit the 20/25 camshaft into the Bentley engine and the studs necessary for the changeover. We cannot guarantee that you will not run up against some other difficulties, but as far as we know these are all the non-standard features. With regard to the chassis, as far as we know this is standard. Will you please go over it and see what repairs are necessary in order to put it into reasonable running condition, and let Sales have an estimate for the work.
