To SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to C. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} X180 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG22. 3.28! 16-EX CAR. X 7770 As this car has now been sold it can no longer be looked upon as an Experimental car and we have handed the car over to Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} Test Dept. in order that it shall go through the usual routine before it is despatched and record cards made out for it. There are however several features on this car which have not been standardised. 15-EX car (a similar car to 16-EX) ran over 10,000 miles in France and that car proved to be satisfactory. The reason no standardisation sheets were issued for these parts was because of the change in policy in producing the Sports cars. The parts referred to above are as follows :- (1) Compression ratio 4.75. (2) Hartford shock absorbers all round as well as hydraulics. (3) No tie-rods. (4) Side guards to streamline engine and gearbox. (5) Modified petrol tank. (6) Special rear wheel carrier. There are also features on this car which have been standardised but are not yet on production chassis, these are :- (1) Rubber engine mounting. (2) Cast dashboard. (3) Engine further forward. (4) Modified position of pedals and steering column. (5) Battery in the frame. contd :- | ||
