Y5300 To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}9/KT.27.9.33. 20/25 CLUTCH. This is to confirm our conversation about the suggestion from N. that the lanoline used to treat the parts of the 20/25 clutch runs on to the linings when the clutch gets really hot. The parts in question are the flywheel, both pressure plates on which the fabric is rivetted, and the driven saw steel disc. We understand you prefer Parkerising the surfaces rather than cadmium plating them, and hope you will arrange for this to be done on production as soon as possible.
