-4- lis/SWdl.{Len H. Swindell}5/MA.6.2.33. Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} "Luffing up" due to a low diffuser level was experienced if after full opening the throttle was gently eased off at speed 10-30 M.P.H. Numerous experiments concerning the same feature have been carried out on the existing production carburetter as reported by Whyman ( ). the cure of the trouble being to take the slow running petrol supply from a higher level in the diffuser. For test purposes this could be only arranged on (Lec.3137) by fitting external pipes, but was sufficient to repeat our previous cure of the same "luffing up" trouble. In order to incorporate this it appears necessary to modify the casting as we desire the slow running to be fed from the same level in the diffuser as the lower row of bleed holes are situated. We should like this carried out in such a manner that the direct main feed passage into the diffuser remains the same as at present to(Lec.3137.) without deviations of the passage which creates air locking.
