It may be better to make both pistons fit as closely as possible, and still use some discharge vent covered by valve.

I hope something that will work satisfactorily can be made from what is designed, by the use of the cavity only, with or without collar, and these other modifications come in later as designed. We ought to be better off than Houdaille for instance these are used extensively here in France.
