Bailey - Chief Engineer} EFC2/T12.8.19. X.2512 - CHASSIS IGNITION CONDENSER - G.E.C. SAMPLE. We have tested and examined the sample condenser submitted to us by the G.E.C. As regards capacity and ability to withstand high voltage tests, this is O.K. We have made careful experiments for deciding whether we like their method of using copper end pieces instead of bending over the tin foils and using a clamping piece as we had arranged for our own condensers, and we are of the opinion that their method is not, on the whole, a better method. We would rather have the condensers made up with the projecting tin foils which are subsequently bent over and received in the sheet brass clamping pieces. Perhaps they would make us up another sample in this way and then we could standardise the necessary width and make the necessary alterations to our drawings to suit this. EFC. | ||
