AIR SPRINGS. X8410

We received a letter from the Westinghouse Air Spring Co., dated 27th. April 1926, offering to fit a set of their auxiliary air spring device to one of our cars.

During our recent suspension investigation, we have come to the conclusion that we should take every opportunity of trying every known principle of suspension. There are of course obvious advantages in pneumatic suspension, but up to date it appears to us that the same results could be obtained with less complication and difficulty of manufacture by means of a series of helical springs as on the Lancia Lambda car.

We therefore feel that we should like a set of Westinghouse air springs to try on one of our cars over here. Naturally the car we should like to try them on would be the Phantom.

We should be much obliged if you could take the matter up with the Westinghouse people and let us have a set of this device which we could fit over here.
